February is National Pet Dental Health Month

February is National Pet Dental Health Month. . .so I'm devoting this post to doggie dental health. Your pet's dental health can affect their overall health and well-being as well as their behavior. For example, the infection and inflammation often associated with periodontal disease may cause damage to other organs like their heart, liver and kidneys. Some signs of oral disease and dental issues to look out for are: bad breath, a change in eating or chewing habits, pawing at their mouth/face and/or depression. I'm sure that most of us have heard this information before, but it never hurts to hear it again.

So my one of my New Year's Resolutions was to start taking better care of Maggie and Abbie's teeth. I feel that taking care of their teeth is one area where I'm really slacking. I've tried two different dental sprays, but my two aren't really fans of the spray especially lil Miss Maggie. It is hard to make having their teeth sprayed a positive experience when you can't give them a treat afterward because they aren't suppose to have any food or water for a half before and after spraying their teeth. I should add that it is very strange for Maggie to be that bothered by a dental spray because she will let me do just about anything to her. She is my easy child because she is a dream to groom and doesn't even flinch when I find a matt. When Maggie would see my pick up their water bowls, she would avoid me because she knew the dental spray was next. So we gave up on the dental sprays.

I'm back to brushing their teeth. I'm girls aren't crazy about having their teeth brushed, but they tolerate it. What has made a world of difference for us is finding the right toothbrush. Most doggie toothbrushes on the market are just too big for Maggie and Abbie's petite mouths. I know some of our friends have had success with baby/toddler toothbrushes, but I found those still to be too big for my two. I have found that the C.E.T. Mini-Toothbrush is the perfect size for Maggie and Abbie's little mouths. The bristles might be a little hard, but otherwise this is the perfect little toothbrush for us. The C.E.T. Mini-Toothbrush comes with a sample of C.E.T toothpaste, which is what we are using. I'm very optimistic about brushing as we have good friends with Maltese and Yorkies who have been able to avoid dental cleanings. I would really like to avoid dental cleanings as they require our little ones to be put under with anesthesia, which is relatively safe. . .but I still would like to avoid it if possible. I haven't tried non-anesthesia dental cleanings for Maggie and Abbie, but am going to ask our Vet about them because he offers them. If you have had a non-anesthesia dental cleaning done on your pup, I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on them.

Something that I have done and will continue to do is provide Maggie and Abbie with chews. Unlike dry dog food, I believe that dental chews and chews like bully sticks promote good dental health. Still they are no substitute for brushing. Our veterinarian recommends C.E.T. HEXtra Premium Oral Hygiene Chews. Maggie and Abbie get very excited when they see me grab the C.E.T. HEXtra Chews from on top of their crates. . .so I would say that they like them. I usually break one in half and give Abbie the smaller half. In addition helping promote good dental health, providing your dogs with chews helps them release energy and stress. I would never give any kind of chew without supervision.

I figure the best gift that I can give Maggie and Abbie is to really care for their teeth and gums. So now before we go to bed, I brush Maggie and Abbie's teeth no matter how late it is or how tired am or if they are already sleeping. One of the problems that I have had in past is that I'm too hard on myself, so if I would miss a night I would just give up. Now if I miss a night it is ok because Maggie and Abbie will get their teeth brushed the next night. So far so good. . .I'm hoping that it will become our before bed ritual soom.

Yummy, Organic Treats from Wet Noses

When I was at Petco last week, I spotted these tiny treats called Little Stars by Wet Noses. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the ingredients. Little Stars are organic and wheat-free, which are two things that I look for in treats. I purchased the Sweet Potato flavor for Maggie and Abbie since they love sweet potatoes. The ingredients are: Organic rye flour, organic sweet potato puree, organic canola oil, organic molasses, organic cinnamon, organic ginger.

The stars are the smallest treats that I have found. They are the perfect size for toy breeds. Every other small treat that I have found, I still break-up into smaller pieces for training. Better yet, Maggie and Abbie love these treats. I'm going to pick up the other flavors to try this weekend as part of Maggie and Abbie's Halloween treats.

Appetizer or dessert? Well, that is the debate in our house. Maggie and Abbie each have a different stance of this topic. Both Maggie and Abbie love blueberries, so as a little treat I add a few blueberries to each meal. I have notices that Maggie likes to eat her blueberries first like an appetizer before eating her actual meal. Abbie, on the other hand, likes to eat her meal first and save her blueberries for last like dessert. I think it is so funny to see my baby girls’ different eating styles or habits. It is so much like the differences in their personalities. Both of my girls are Maltese, both they are still so different, yet so lovable.

Drum roll please. . . . .Maggie and Abbie are going as Alice and the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The girls costumes are from Doggie Couture Shop. It wasn’t an easy task to decide which costumes to get the girls being the Doggie Couture Shop has over 230 costumes to pick from. I couldn’t be happier with Maggie and Abbie’s costumes.

Maggie’s Alice costume is more beautiful in person. The dress is a rich blue with a white apron like Alice wears in Alice in Wonderland. The fabrics used have a rich texture and sheen. The lace detail on the skirt and sleeves is fun and flirty. To top it off, the Alice costume also comes with Alice’s signature big black bow. This is the perfect Alice in Wonderland costume! I decided to make Maggie Alice as she has an adventurous and curious personality.

Deciding to dress Abbie as the Queen of Hearts wasn’t too difficult since I had decided that Maggie would make a good Alice. Abbie has the perfect little diva personality to fit the Queen of Hearts costume. Again this costume like Maggie’s has all the perfect elements for the Queen of Hearts. The fabrics of the Queen of Hearts costume are so fun and gorgeous. They are fabrics fit for a queen. The dual skirt and lace trim are adorable. The hearts on the back and big red bow catch your eye. My favorite part of Abbie’s Queen of Hearts costume is the collar which pops up. The little crown is the finishing touch, even if Abbie wasn’t a fan of it.

Cozy Snuggle Sack From Doggie Couture Shop

I promised my fiancé that I would not buy Maggie and Abbie anymore doggie beds as our place is literally littered with them. I didn’t break that promise with my latest find for Maggie and Abbie as it is called the Cozy Snuggle Sack by Bijou Dog. I was browsing on of our favorite website Doggie Couture Shop when I saw the Cozy Snuggle Sack and knew it was a must have for Maggie and Abbie. It is so hard to be good when Doggie Couture Shop is constantly adding new inventory to it’s website.

The Cozy Snuggle Sack is as cute and cuddly in person as it looks on Doggie Couture Shop’s website. First off, I absolutely love the colors of the Cozy Snuggle Sack. The deep charcoal gray and beautiful Tiffany blue are a perfect combination. Every girl and pup has to love Tiffany blue. It is definitely one of our favorite colors. The bow detail and small heart pillow are adorable and the perfect finishing touches. The fabric that the Cozy Snuggle Sack is made out of is a super soft, ultra cuddly fleece. Maggie and Abbie love the snuggly fleece. In fact, as soon as I took the Cozy Snuggle Sack out of the box and placed it one the floor, Maggie hopped right in it and didn’t want to get out. It was such a cute sight.

Maggie stayed in the Cozy Snuggle Sack until she realized that the heart pillow had a squeaker in it. Then, Maggie took off squeaking the little heart pillow. In the meanwhile, Abbie made herself right at home in the Cozy Snuggle Sack. She didn’t want to get out either. Maggie and Abbie are in love with their Cozy Snuggle Sack. I might have to order a second one, so they can each have their own although they don’t seem to mind sharing it too much. Maggie and Abbie give the Cozy Snuggle Sack their seal of approval! Perfect Bowls from Doggie Couture Shop

We have found the perfect bowls for toy breed pups. I always have a hard time finding cute bowls small enough to serve as food and water bowls for Maggie and Abbie. Maggie is about 6lbs and Abbie weights in just under 3.5lbs, so they don't need big food bowls. An adequate sized water bowl is equally important since otherwise the girls seem to dunk their whole face in the water, lol!

While shopping at Doggie Couture Shop, I stumbled upon the perfect bowls for Maggie and Abbie. I love the amazing selection on Doggie Couture Shop’s website. They carry everything you could want for your pup, so I’m not at all surprised that I found the perfect bowls there.

Dog Chewz NYC makes these beautiful bowls. They come in a set of two, one for food and one for water. For my two, I picked the pretty purple set, but they have fun colors and even leopard print available at Doggie Couture Shop. I have to say that I do love the 18kt gold letter on the bowls, which makes them fit for any princess or prince. I was thrilled that the bowls are porcelain since I’m not a fan of plastic bowls and stainless steel seems rather boring to me. Also, I don’t have to worry because the bowls are lead free.

Besides loving the aesthetics of these cute bowls from Doggie Couture Shop, the set is very practical for Maggie and Abbie with a diameter under 4 inches. They hold ½ a cup of food and 1 cup of water, respectively. I have to say that it is nice to be able to throw them in the dishwasher with the rest of our dishes and not worry. The only catch is that you can’t microwave in these bowls because of the 18kt gold letter, but we haven’t found that to be an issue.

Hi my name is Melissa, and I have a problem when it comes to buying super cute clothing for my pups. The first step is admitting that you have a problem, right.

Well, I think that I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to buying adorable dog clothes for Maggie and Abbie. It might to the point of needing a twelve step program. I blame the designers for creating such irresistibly adorable dog clothing. It is fun dressing Maggie and Abbie up in the cute clothing, too. I have a matching bow addiction as well, but that will be a topic for another day.

Maggie and Abbie's 4th of July

Maggie and Abbie didn't have a very eventful 4th of July to do rain...everyday. We did have company, which Maggie and Abbie loved. They loved all the attention they received from our guest and were very good little hostesses.

Pet Medications at Target Now

A dear friend of mine was recently at Target and discovered the they have a New Free Pet Medication Insurance Program. Now you can pick up your pet's prescriptions with your own. If you are interested in more information, I would stop in to your closest Target with a pharmacy. From what I can tell the prices look very reasonable and less than what I remember paying at the Vet's office for some of them.

My Silly Lil Divas

I thought that I would share two funny stories from our weekend. I drove the girls over to Grandma and Grandpa's house on my own. During the drive, I found my self trying to explain to Abbie that it isn't safe for Mommy to rub her belly while driving, especially during a rain storm. Abbie wasn't having any part of my explanation. She would just roll over to show me her belly and give me her sad puppy face....which she has mastered. I didn't give in as our safety is most important, until we arrived at a red light.

Maggie and Abbie were very excited not only to get going to Grandma and Grandpa's this weekend, but because their Daddy came home from his business trip. My fiancé told me that Sunday he woke up and Maggie was sleeping on his pile of dirty clothes on our bedroom floor. He got out of bed to bring Maggie back to our bed. While he was standing up and making his way half asleep to grab Maggie, Maggie ran up the doggie steps to our bed and layed down in his stop. He believes that Maggie moved to the floor because she wanted his spot. I should add that while he was away, Maggie slept next to me in his stop.

I was on my computer working on somethings for the blog when Maggie decided that she wanted to be the center of my attention. Pet Gear Pup Tub Review

One of the products that I brought home with me from The Global Pet Expo was The Pup Tub by Pet Gear. The Pup Tub is a life saver for us. My kitchen is sink is unfortunately too shallow to bath Maggie and Abbie, so I would bath them in the tub. It was so much work to bath my girls in the tub because it is way too big. I felt kind of like Goldilocks with the sink being too small and the bath tub being too large, but the Pup Tub is just right. In order to save my back and knees from bending and kneeling while bathing Maggie and Abbie in our large tub, I would put on my swimsuit and sit in the tub with the girls. If I didn't get in the tubs with the girls, they would shake and not be happy campers and neither were my back and knees. Having to put on my swimsuit and get in the tub with the girls for their weekly bath was tedious and made bath time such a huge chore.

Our Pup Tub Already For It's First Use

Unlike the kitchen which requires cleaning before and after use for bathing our pups as well as some kind of mat to keep the pups from sliding around, the Pup Tub requires none of those things. After using the Pup Tub simple release the drain and rinse it out. The Pup Tub also has a built in an rubberized mat to keep your pup from slipping and sliding all around during bath time. I haven't had to use the two adjustable leash restraints on each side of the Pup Tub, but if you have pup that isn't a fan of bath time they could be a live-saver. You don't have to worry about the Pup Tub moving around on the counter because it has four anti-skid rubber grippers, which keep it in place. Also making life easier are the two convenient compartment perfect for holding your pup's shampoo and conditioner.

We love our Pup Tub! Maggie and Abbie are totally relaxed and comfortable in it. They can easily turn around in it and I'm able to maneuver them around to rinse them, etc. It is the perfect size for us and so light-weight. The Pup Tub makes life simpler, which it is key. Bath time is now a snap. The girls and I are so much happier now that we have our Pup Tub. I only wish I had discover the Pup Tub sooner.

To Trim Or Not To Trim....

To trim or not to trim....that is the question. I've been debating taking Maggie and Abbie to our groomer for a slight summer trim. Both my girls are in full coat, aka their coats are to the floor. Living in South Florida, it gets very hot and humid during the summer, which is one reason I'm considering trimming the girls coats. I'm not thinking anything drastic, but more like just a few inches off to make their lives and mine easier for the summer. Then, by winter both girls coats will have grown back out. I groom both girls myself and they have both only been to the groomer once. Our groomer is great. Both times I took either Maggie or Abbie either, the followed my instructions to a tee.

I'm looking to get some opinions, so what do you think? Should I take Maggie and Abbie for a trim?

Go.Fetch's Abbie Cherry Spinkles Cupcake Dress

As all of you know my little Abbie turned two last month. Her special day would not have been complete without the perfect birthday dress. My dear friend at Go.Fetch gladly volunteered to create a custom dress for Abbie and the Abbie Cherry Sprinkles Cupcake Dress was born. The bow was custom made to match by one of the very best bow makers, Marj of M'Lady's Dog Bows.

It was love at first sight when I saw the dress. Go.Fetch as usual out did themselves. This dress is just the epitome of cuteness from the monogrammed cupcake to adorable rick-rack trim. The cherry and sprinkles fabric is even cuter in person as picture do not do it justice. The bodice is a lovely light lavender and almost looks stripped in person giving the dress even more visual appeal. The pink and purple ribbon really tie the colors of the dress together. Plus, who doesn't love a double skirt!

Sunshine Weekend

I unfortunately didn't get any decent pictures of the girls at the beach as it was super windy. I did snap a few this weekend of Maggie and Abbie enjoying the sunshine and sweet potato chews.

Being that yesterday was Abbie actual birthday, it was only right that the celebration continued. Since snuggling and belly rubs are two of Abbie's favorite activities. My fiancé and I were more than happy to indulge Abbie.

Maggie and Abbie were dressed in their Oscar Newman Birthday Party Hand-Smocked Dresses last night and their bows are from Tickled Pink Boutique. The girls had a blast running around and playing with each in between snuggling sessions with mommy and daddy in their new Oscar Newman dresses. I have to say that Oscar Newman's Birthday Party Hand-Smocked Dresses are like little treasure. The hand-smocking and detail work is impeccable. Even the raspberry colored fabric is special as it as a sparkle to it. Pictures just do not do these dresses justice. Of course, Maggie and Abbie were able to enjoy some more Coconut Banana Cake. It is so cute how crazy they both go for some cake.

Abbie Turns Two ♥

I can't believe and neither can my fiancé that our little Abbie is two years old. He has decided that it is impossible and Abbie is only 1.5 years old, lol. Where does the time go? I wish that I could slow it down just a tiny bit to fit in a few more smooches and snuggle with my girls.

I feel like such a bad Mommy as none of Abbie big presents have arrived, yet. I guess I should have ordered them a little sooner. So this means the celebration will continue was Abbie's presents arrive! I don't think Abbie will mind!

We started celebrating Abbie's Birthday last night, but Abbie started off her actually birthday with extra belly rubs, which are her favorite thing! Followed by a little slice of her favorite Coconut Banana Cake, recipe courtesy of CocoTherapy, all before breakfast. Abbie is loving all the attention.

Since Abbie's big presents haven't arrived her birthday basket looks a little sparse. Abbie received an adorable hot pink Hello Kitty Nightie from a friend. Otherwise from Mommy and Daddy, Abbie receive the Birthday Party Hand-Smocked Dress by Oscar Newman, the Paris Dress by Oscar Newman, the Puccini Top by Truly Oscar, the Miss Butterfly Dress as well as some toys and treats. I took Abbie to the Haute Hound on Saturday where we bought some of her presents. We love visiting the Haute Hound as the owner Kimberly always keeps her store stocked with the newest and cutest doggie goodies.

I'm so super excited because Abbie's custom birthday dress which is named after her is on it's way. Our favorite designer Go.Fetch created a special birthday dress for my Abbie called Abbie's Sprinkle Cherry Cupcake. I received pictures of the dress this morning and could not get over how cute the dress is! I had to the cuteness share with my co-workers. Everyone loves the dress as it is perfect for my little Abbie. She is totally going to look like a little princess on her special day.

Coconut Banana Cake Recipe from CocoTherapy

For Maggie's birthday last month, I baked her a Coconut Banana Cake from CocoTherapy's recipe. This cake is not only delicious for pets and humans, but fantastic for pets with allergies. Coconut Banana Cake by CocoTherapy

1 cup organic coconut flour (can get in health food stores)
1/2 cup coconut milk/cream
1/2 cup CocoTherapy coconut oil (melted)
12 eggs
3/4 cup organic coconut sugar (might be hard to find). You can use light brown sugar instead
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
3 mashed large bananas (drizzle some honey with the mashed bananas to sweeten)

Frosting
Cream Cheese whipped with some honey to lightly sweeten

1. Combine coconut oil (melted), coconut milk, eggs, vanilla, sugar, salt.
2. Combine/sift together coconut flour and baking powder.
3. Mix wet & dry indgredients into batter, until there are no lumps.
4. Fold in mashed bananas w/ honey.
5. Pour batter equally into two greased 8" or 9" cake pans.
6. Bake at 350 F for around 45 minutes (or until kniffe comes out clean).

Cool and frost. Enjoy!

We have the sweetest friends! My dear friend, Melissa of Bark.Sniff.Drool Blog fame, sent my Maggie an amazing birthday package! Melissa totally spoiled my girls. The package arrived right on time for Maggie's birthday, but I have been a little behind on my postings. Inside Melissa included two adorable Pinkaholic hoodies with hearts all over them, one for Maggie and a cooridnating one for Abbie, as well as some Aqua Pure Breed water, Nootie pet shampoo and spritz in Japanese Cherry Bloosom and two cute designer toys. I can't wait to get some photos of the girls in there new hoodies! Maggie and Abbie love their new toys.

Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado

Maggie received two Nina Ottosson Interactive Dog Toys from Mommy and Daddy. I was worried initially that the toys would be too difficult or my little Maggie would be too lazy to really try the toys. Boy oh boy was I pleasantly surprised....Maggie loves her new Nina Ottosson Interactive Dog Toys and I love them, too. Nina Ottonsson's Interactive Dog Toys are so innovative. They are essentially brain exercises for dogs. Just like we do crossword puzzles or suduko, dogs now have toys to work their problem solving skills. I purchased Maggie's two toys from Poochie Heaven. The prices were very reasonable and the shipping was only $5. I was very pleased with my purchases and the service I received from Poochie Heaven.

The first one that I'm reviewing is the Dog Tornado. The Dog Tornado is shaped like a bone consisting of four moving plates, three with treat compartment. The top layer serves as a cover and then each consecutive layer covers the next. You place treats or kibble in each compartment and then your dog must use their nose or paw to move the layers in different directions to access the treats. The Dog Tornado comes with little bones which fit over the treat compartments and can be used for added difficulty. It also includes a training dvd. I found Nina Ottosson's website very helpful, too as there are videos and great suggestions.

The Easter Bunny Came

Maggie and Abbie wanted to wish all their amazing followers and fans a very Happy Easter!

For Easter morning, I put on the girls new Go.Fetch Hippity Hop Bunny Embroidered Dresses! These dresses are simply gorgeous. The little bunny hopping along the flowers with a butterfly is too cute for words. The colors of the dress are pastel and perfect for Easter. The fabric on the skirt is not only super soft, but it is an adorable bunny print with flowers and strawberries. The detail work on this dress is amazing from the rick rack around the neck to coordinating ribbon hiding the d-ring. Go.Fetch is one of my favorite brands because the designs are always adorable and quality is second to none.

Maggie and Abbie have been having a funtastic Easter so far. We drove over to Grandma and Grandpa's house, which is their favorite place to visit. Then, we have been having great weather. Maggie and Abbie have been enjoying G-ma and G-pa's big back yard as well as playing dress up for everyone.

One of the Easter dresses that Maggie and Abbie sported were their Bunny Dresses from Tickled Pink Boutique. These dresses are adorable. The fabric has a pale pink background which looks lovely on Maltese and adorable lil bunny faces all over it. The dress is topped off with a beautiful white bow. M'Lady's Dog Bows as usual had the perfect bow to match.

Our Celebrity Encounter

During my trip to Orlando, FL for the Global Pet Expo, I was able to meet and spend time with my favorite designer behind the Go.Fetch and Toni Mari brands, Desiree. It was almost like meeting a celebrity for me because I'm such a huge fan of Go.Fetch and Toni Mari. Unfortunately, only Exhibitors could bring their dogs to Expo, but I really wanted Des to meet Maggie and Abbie. So Saturday afternoon my sweet fiance drove up with Maggie and Abbie.

If it is possible, I'm now an even bigger fan of Go.Fetch and Toni Mari. Desiree is such a sweet person with amazing creative talent. We had such a good time together, it was sad when it was time for Desiree to leave.

Pet Lovers Heaven=Global Pet Expo

I arrived home Sunday from attending the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida. The Expo was so much fun and best of all I was able to meet many for our Facebook friends like Melissa (bark.sniff.drool blog), Susan (Melissa' Mom), Rebecca, Nikki (obsessive chihuahua disorder blog), Maggie (Luv My Furbaby), and Desiree (Go.Fetch/Toni Mari). There were so many exhibitors at Global...it was a bit overwhelming. I attended all three days, Thursday - Saturday, and I still missed some booths. I came home with so many goodies....so great ready for lots of product reviews coming up!

Himalayan Dog Chews Review with Two Videos

One of Maggie birthday presents were Himalayan Dog Chews. I wasn't too sure about them at first, but the Himalayan Dog Chews website has a great Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page, which answered the questions that I had. I also received testimonials from our other dog/Maltese lover friends which swayed me. So I decided to order some and cross my fingers that Maggie and Abbie would like them.

Himalayan Dog Chews are made out of Yak and Caw milk, salt and lime juice. The Himalayan Dog Chews FAQ sections explains that while raw milk is hard for dogs to digest that is not the case with these chews because the milk is made into cheese which then alters the protein making the chew easy for dogs to digest. It also explains that the amount of salt is negligible. Also Himalayan Dog Chews are all natural and have no preservatives.

Maggie and Abbie love Himalayan Dog Chews. I was so surprised, but Maggie and Abbie go crazy for them. Best of all the Himalayan Dog Chews last for a long time. They really keep the girls occupied as they have to soften the chews before they can begin to scrap off small pieces. Another aspect I like is that the chews don't make Maggie and Abbie's faces messy or give them funky smelling breath, so Maggie and Abbie still kissable never after chewing their Himalayan Dog Chews.

I felt so bad for Abbie yesterday that I had to get her some feel better presents and it didn't help that The Haute Hound was having 20% off. So stopped into The Haute Hound on my way to pick my baby up. I just love The Haute Hound....the owner, Kimberly, is super nice and keeps her store stocked with the cutest stuff. If you are ever in Jupiter, you have to make sure to stop by The Haute Hound. If not be sure to check out The Haute Hound's website, which is update almost daily with new products.

I bought the girls a pink Aikiou bowl (Pronounced IQ). I can't wait for them to try it out.....I'm definitely be doing a review post on it. I also picked up some Grandma Lucy's Tiny Tidbit Treats in Cheeseburger, which Maggie and Abbie love and a trial of Grandma Lucy's Artisan Grain-Free Lamb Dog Food. It is a dehydrated dog food which I can't wait for my girls to try. I also picked up a cute lil pink pup toy and some Easter treats.

Every year for the girls birthdays I make them a home-made cake or cupcakes. This year I made Maggie a Coconut Banana Cake. The girls loved the cake. It makes me so happy to see them enjoying the cake I baked for them.

Dog Behavior Seminar

Friday evening for our date, my fiance and I attended a Dog Behavior Seminar at Lucky Dog Sports Club in Jupiter, FL. The seminar was given by Dr. Lisa Radosta, Board-Certified Veterinary Behaviorist. The purpose of the seminar was to learn what you dog is really saying by learning the secret language of dogs. Some of the things Harry and I learned were how dogs show friendliness, fear or stress as well as what our dogs are actually trying to tell us and other dogs. It was so amazing to learn all the signals our dogs give us that we miss. They really do have their own language. I would highly recommend this seminar to anyone in the Palm Beach county area.

Allie is 6-8 years old sweet, happy foster. She has cataracts and the surgery costs around $1000.00 for one eye. Allie deserves the gift of sight. Canine Massage Therapy by Ben

During our meet-up with Michele and her sweeties Tiny and Holly, Maggie was lucky enough to receive a Canine Massage Therapy Session. Michele's brother-in-law, Ben totally won Maggie over with his massage therapy skils. Uncle Ben as we now call him after his bonding session with Maggie has magical hands and fingers. Maggie was seriously loving Ben's massaging. If he stopped, Maggie would give him a look or walk back over and lay down in front of him. It was so cute and funny! Maggie didn't want the massage therapy to stop. She was like putty in Ben's hands. Uncle Ben is like a dog whisperer. He really understand dogs and picks up on their body language.

My Christmas Suprise

My amazing fiance surprised me on Christmas morning with a gift that I wasn't expecting. He knows that I love Christine Monroe Sculptures, so he had a custom sculpture of Maggie and Abbie made for me! I absolutely love it! Christine did an outstanding job as always! It was the best gift!

My super sweet friend Melissa, who has a really cool doggie blog Bark.Sniff.Drool, sent us the sweetest package. She sent the girls these adorable Hip Doggie Hoodies and some yummy cookies! Making New Friends

On Sunday, Harry and I drove up to meet my friend Michele and two beautiful Maltese Tiny and Holly! Oh my goodness, we had the best time! All the girls got along great! It was like they I know Michele and I were both in Maltese heaven being with our four lovely girls!

Michele and her two lovelies Tiny and Holly are the sweetest! It was so awesome to meet another Maltese Momma so devoted to her pups! It was so hard to leave! Maggie, Abbie and myself didn't want the fun to end. The pups were all so cute together. I call Holly and Abbie twinnies because they are both just about the same size. Maggie really looked up to Tiny. It was so precious, Maggie would follow Tiny around and always had to know where Tiny was. All the while their Mommies chatted and exchanged tips.

Scared Poopless is hands down the best dog care book that I have ever read. While Chiclet and Jiggy, Jan's pups, might be Maltese, Scared Poopless is geared to all dog owners and has value information for all dog owners.

I was shocked many times while reading. Chiclet and Jan debunk many dog care myths. One major topic covered is over vaccination in pets. Jan might not be a Veterinarian, but has done her research and consulted with Vets. Jan's motivation for writing Scared Poopless was her Maltese Jiggy's life-threatening illness. Chiclet and Jan’s website, www.dogs4dogs.com, is also a great resource.

Scared Poopless is available from Northcentral Maltese Rescue's The Malt Shop. A great way to support a great cause and get an amazing book.

Maggie and Abbie wanted to wish our fan a Happy Hanukkah! Dog Tip of the Day posted this fun recipe. What a great way for you pup to take part in the festivities.

The recipe is courtesy Loews Hotels Executive Chef Mark Ehrler.

Lassie Latkes

Ingredients

9 cups sweet potatoes (peeled and grated)

1⁄2 cup honey

3 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
2 tablespoons walnut oil

1 teaspoon ground cardmom

1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions: Preheat oven to 400F degrees. In a large bowl, toss together the sweet potatoes, honey, ginger, walnut oil, cardamom, and pepper. Transfer to a large cast iron frying pan. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Stir the potatoes to expose the pieces from the bottom of the pan. Bake for another 20 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized on the outside.

I took so many photos over Thanksgiving. Maggie and Abbie loved seeing their g-ma andg-pa, but they love their uncles to death. It is so sweet how much Maggie and Abbie love their Uncles Jon and Mike (my brothers). I captured this sweet moment of Abbie snuggled up with her Uncle Mike. It was too precious not to share. Abbie is such a snuggly lil girl!!

Bark In The Park

Today was the Bark In The Park event. It was held at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park and lucky the weather held. I only took Maggie with as my better half was out of town. To make it up to Abbie, I took her by Woof Gang Bakery for treats. Maggie had an amazing time at Bark In The Park. She was such a good girl too. Maggie also received lots of compliments on her Tutu Harness from Tickled Pink Boutique.

There were lots of great vendors at Bark In The Park. One of our favorite local stores had a booth Haute Hound. The Haute Hound's owner Kimberly was running the booth. She had the cutest items even some from one of our favorite designers Toni Mari.

Then, there was an adorable fashion put on by Doggie Fashion Shows. It was so fun to watch. The fashion was highlight of Bark In The Bark.

After the fashion show there was a fun game of musical chairs for dogs and owners. The owners had to put their dogs in a sit-stay before they could grab a chair. We didn't participate because Maggie was a bit over-stimulated at this point, but it was fun to watch.

I know I'm a bit behind with these photos. We were out of town for Thanksgiving at Maggie and Abbie's grandparents' house. I love watching Christmas movies at this time of year. I have noticed that ABC Family is has started it’s countdown to the 25 days of Christmas. I just saw a preview the other night for an ABC Family Original movie that looks so cute: The Dog Who Saved Christmas. It is going to air this Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 8pm (EST) and again at 10pm (EST). I can't wait to watch it. I also set my dvr just in case!

Visitors This Weekend

Maggie and Abbie had visitors his weekend. My younger brother, Mike, and his girlfriend, Katherine, drove down this weekend from Gainesville. Maggie and Abbie love their uncle Mike to death and his girlfriend. Maggie and Abbie just love all the extra attention!

Abbie is a little character...well both Maggie and Abbie are. I love looking through old pictures. I was going through some today and I came across this picture of Abbie sleeping. Abbie loves her little blue bean bag. I don't know why, but she does. It was actually a pillow for humans, but I gave it to the girls. Ever since Abbie has decided that it is one of her all time favorite spots. I have not a clue how Abbie could sleep like this. Just look...her head is totally hanging off and almost on the floor. Cracks me up! Does your pup have any strange sleeping habits?

I'm so excited to share that Maggie and Abbie are now Go.Fetch Cover Girls!!! I e-mailed some of my pictures of Maggie and Abbie modeling some Go.Fetch designs to Go.Fetch.
